On 5 March 2014, Teichert provided a letter to the Central Valley Water Board
explaining that there has been no aggregate mining, washing, or discharge of wastewater at the
facility since November 2008 and that the facility is permanently closed. Pursuant to your letter,
we asked the Board to rescind the WDRs.
Enclosed is a copy of Order R5-2014-0114, which was adopted by the Central Valley Water Board
at its 8 August 2014 meeting. Order R5-2014-0114 rescinds WDRs Order R5-2002-0220, which
prescribed requirements for the discharge.
Rescission of the WDRs means that you are no longer obligated to submit monitoring reports.
However, it also means that you are no longer authorized to discharge wastewater unless that
discharge is authorized by other state or local permits. It is our understanding that there are no
existing groundwater monitoring wells at the facility that would need to be abandoned.
If you have any questions about rescission of Order R5-2002-0220, please contact Scott
Armstrong at (916) 464-4616 or sarmstrongawaterboards.ca.gov. If you have any questions about
monitoring reports which were required to be submitted prior tome date that the permit was
rescinded, please contact Brendan Kenny at (916) 464-4635 or bkennv(a)-waterboards.ca.pov.
Ciicve, /loeA---
ANNE L.
