GealvgkaITeclixiaInc, Page 6 Well Instaliation and Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report Project No. 1030.2 ' June 18,2002 Extreme care was exercised while collecting samples to prevent agitation of the water ' contained in the Waterra pump. With minimal sample aeration, water samples were transferred from the pump into 40-m1 VOA vials preserved with hydrochloric acid. All ' samples were checked for headspace bubbles, Iabeled, inserted into foam holders and placed into a cooled ice chest for transport to the laboratory. ' The sampling technician wore disposable gloves while collecting all samples. A chain of custody document, listing all samples collected and their intended analyses, ' accompanied the samples from field to the laboratory, thereby providing a means to track the movement of and ensure the integrity of the samples. ' 2.3.2 Groundwater Laboratory Analyses The following summarizes the groundwater sample testing used for this phase of work. The groundwater samples collected on May 8, 2002, were delivered to Sherwood Labs ' (California ELAP No. 1400), of Hilmar, California, for the following analyses: • benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX)by EPA method 8020 • gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-Gasoline) by EPA method 8015(m) • fuel oxygenate suite (MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, TBA, 1,2 DCA and EDB) by EPA method 8260 The detection limits for these compounds are listed in the data table, Table 2 of Appendix ' A. A Chain of Custody was completed for all samples collected and tracked to ensure sample integrity. Laboratory data sheets are included in Appendix D. ' The laboratory data was submitted electronically to GeoTracker as required under AB2886 on May 23, 2002. The confirmation number for the electronic submittal is 4770173072. ' 3.0 RESULTS OF INVESTIGATION ' Summary analytical data tables are included in Appendix A. A borehole log is included in Appendix B. The Groundwater Monitoring Field Notes are included in Appendix C and ' Laboratory Data Sheets are included in Appendix D. The Groundwater gradient map is included as Figure 2. ' The analytical results and field observations are discussed below.
