' Quarterly Report - June 1998
• Franklyn Cole Properties
7505 West Linne Road, Tracy, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
In accordance with a request from Mr. Franklyn Cole,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has
tprepared this Quarterly Report for 7505 West Linne Road, Tracy, California (the site). This report
summarizes the installation and operation of the soil remediation unit at the site. The location and
vicinity of the site are illustrated on Figure 1 - Location Map; structures, borings, and former UST
and dispenser locations on the site are illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan.
t The report is prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sites.
. Background information and a description of prior investigations at the site was included in the Site
Summary Report- October 1996, dated 22 October 1996 prepared by AGE.
. 2.0. PROCEDURES
' 2.1. SOIL-VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM INSTALLATION
' On 12 February 1998, a King, Buck/Hasstech (KBH) thermal oxidation soil-vapor extraction unit
(SVE) was delivered to the site by AGE. Beginning on 17 February 1998, setup of the extraction
system was initiated with installation of the electrical power source and the natural gas line.
1
The SVE network was installed connecting wells VW-1 and VW-2 and the SVE unit using 211--
diameter
"diameter schedule 40 PVC piping. However, well VW-2 was not used for continual extraction due .
to very low soil-vapor hydrocarbon concentrations in the area of well V W-2.The piping was placed
in a trench approximately 5 to 6 inches in depth and covered with sand. Concrete was then'applied
t over the trenching to match the existing surface. The piping was then routed through a moisture
knockout drum to a 2-horsepower;maximum 100 standard cubic feet per minute (scfm) blower and
into the thermal oxidizer oven. An in-line flow meter is located within SVE located along the flow
route of the extracted vapor..
- - 2:2. ----SVE START-UP
'The KBH thermal SVE system began full-scale operation on 25 February 1998. The initiation of the
' SVE operation was observed by representatives of the San Joaquin Unified Air Pollution Control
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental;Inc.
