The work plan was submitted in response to <br /> the EHD letter dated 27 March 2013 directing that the lateral and vertical extent of <br /> contamination be delineated that resulted from the unauthorized release from a former <br /> undergroundstorage tank (UST) system . <br /> In the work plan , AnteaeGroup proposes to: <br /> • Advance a maximum of five soil borings (SB-1 through SB-5) using direct-push <br /> technology; <br /> • First advance four soil borings adjacent to the UST pit to approximately 15 feet below <br /> surface grade (bsg) while collecting continuous soil samples for lithologic logging and <br /> field screening using a photo-ionization detector (PID) ; and collecting soil samples for <br /> chemical analysis at approximately 5, 10 and 15 feet bsg , based on PID readings and <br /> field observation; <br /> • Advance one additional soil boring, SB-5, in the center of the former UST pit as <br /> illustrated on Figure 2 of the work plan , to approximately 20 feet bsg while collecting <br /> continuous soil samples for lithologic logging and field screening using a PID; and <br /> collecting soil samples for chemical analysis at approximately 10, 15 and 20 feet bsg, <br /> based on PID readings and field observation ; <br /> Analyze soil samples for gasoline range organics (GRO); benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX), total lead and methyl tertiary-butyl ether <br /> (MTBE) ; and <br /> • Notify the EHD approximately five days prior to commencing field activates. <br /> The EFID approves the work plan , as submitted, with the condition that 1 , 2-dichloroethane (1 , 2_- <br /> DCA) and 1 , 2-dibroinoethane (EDB) are added to the soil analyses . Please submit a Well and <br /> Boring Permit application, Master File Record form , and permit/inspection fees of $500. 00 to the <br /> EHD and complete the fieldwork by 03 December 2013. Notify the EHD of pending fieldwork at <br /> least two weeks prior. to the event. <br />
