RRevised Site Investigation Report & Case Closure Request Q
Country Market O
10476 West Linne Road, Tracy, California
Antea Group Project No. CTRYMKTUST a ntea g ro u p
field activities to identify underground utilities near the proposed borings. Antea Group notified the appropriate
site contacts and the SJCEHD priorto commencing field activities.
2.2 Soil Borings
Antea Group advanced two soil borings (SB-1 and SB-2) in the northwest portion of the site near the former USTs.
Soil boring SB-1 was located in the middle of the former UST pit. SB-2 was located approximately 20 feet east of
the UST pit, between the pit and the store. The boring locations are shown on Figure 2.
Penecore Drilling (Penecore), subcontracted by Antea Group, advanced these borings using dual tube direct-push
drilling equipment. SB-1 was advanced to a total depth of 20-feet bgs. SB-2 was advanced to 10-feet bgs.
Prior to drilling, Penecore cleared each borehole location to a depth of 5-feet bgs using hand augering equipment.
Upon completion of sampling activities, the borings were backfilled with neat cement in accordance with SJCEHD
requirements and capped with concrete to match the existing surface.
2.3 Sampling
2.3.1 Soil Sampling
During boring advancement, Antea Group collected continuous soil samples for lithologic logging using the field
procedures outlined as Appendix B.
An Antea Group geologist logged the lithology in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System and
screened the soil samples for volatile organic vapors at approximately 1-foot intervals using a photoionization
detector (PID). PID readings were recorded on their respective boring logs.
Antea Group collected and submitted soil samples for laboratory analysis as follows:
• At depths of 10- and 20-feet bgs in borings SB-1;
• At depths of 5- and 10-feet bgs in boring SB-2;
Soil samples retained for laboratory analysis were labelled with a unique sample name and placed in an ice-cooled
chest following chain-of-custody procedures. Antea Group submitted the soil samples to Alpha Analytical, Inc, a
National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) certified laboratory, for the following analyses:
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons — Purgeable (Gasoline Range Organics) [TPH-P (GRO)], using Environmental
Protection Agency ( EPA) Test Method 80158/82608; BTEX, MTBE, and 1,2-Dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by
EPA Test Method 82608; and
• Total lead by EPA Method 6020/6020A.
3 www.anteagroup.com
