Mokelumne River Fish InstallalTbn -4- 28 April 2000
Inspection Report
The independent analytical results, generated by my inspection, are consistent with the values reported
by the Discharger in the SMRs. Ammonia, not required by the MRP to be analyzed, was not detected
in the samples of the discharges_or receiving water. Trace concentrations of copper, at background
levels, were detected in the effluent and receiving water samples. Based on the independent analytical
results, both discharges were in compliance with the effluent limits of the Order.
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. The facility appears to be adequately operated and maintained with no obvious violations noted
during the inspection.
2. Flow rates for both Discharge 001 and 002 shall be included in future SMRs.
3. Results of independent sample collection and analyses revealed that the discharges were in
compliance with the effluent limits of the order at the time of sampling.
4. The Discharger shall simplify sampling of the two discharges to be consistent with the intent of
the Order. Discharge 001 shall be sampled from the grated floor drain of the fish hatchery
building. Discharge 002 shall be sampled from the diversion gate at the head of the fish ladder.
Attachment: Analytical Laboratory Report
Approved: rP ( S__ ROBERT S.
