Used oil dispensed in the sump table is pumped into
the tank from the sump table (drain rack) using a fixed pneumatic pump
through 1 -inch braided flex hose and galvanized pipe. The sump table,
pump, and hose/piping are located within a concrete curb containment.
Pump type(s)/capacities: A 1 -inch pneumatic driven pump (ARO Corp.)
rated at 35 gpm (max.) is used to fill the tank.
Material Storage:
Material and characteristics: Waste oil from vehicles
Specific Gravity: 0.88 to 0.94
Operating Capacity: 1,000 -gallons
Chemical compatibility findings: The materials identified above are compatible
for contact with or proximity to the equipment, tank or tank system in this
assessment. Initials: f
Visual Inspection:
Tank parameters at time of inspection (empty, etc.): The tank was
approx. have full at time of inspection.
Acute visual evidence of leaks: None observed
Condition of interior surface: Not accessible, flash photos taken down
primary vent access, suction port, and leak detection tube, show minimal
rust.
Condition of exterior surface: The ConVault tank and sump table were
repainted in late 2009. The tank top surface is oil stained but paint is
intact. No significant cracks, punctures, or damaged fittings were
observed. A broken direct reading Krueger Sentry Gauge (Type D
external visible gauge) was replaced prior to certification.
Condition of nozzles, flanges, fittings at tank: There are no nozzles on
the tank. The emergency vent (6 -inch) is functional, and nipples (2- and
4 -inch) are in good condition.
Condition of piping: The galvanized pipe and flex hose are in good
condition.
Visual Inspection findings: A visual inspection of the tank and its affiliated
pumps, piping and ancillary equipment did not reveal signs of leaks, corrosion,
weld cracks or breaks, or scrapes in protective coating which may cause a
release from the tank system. A description of all discrepancies noted during the
visual inspection is included with this report. Initials: off
Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure, Inc. 1,000 Gal.
