i <br /> Health and Safety Plan <br /> January 10,2003 <br /> Page2 <br /> 2.2 SKIN/CLOTHES PROTECTION <br /> Steel-toed boats and hard hats will be worn during all field activities. <br /> Disposable Tyvek suits, steel-toed rubber boots or steel-toed boots covered with disposable boots, and <br /> nitrile rubber gloves will be worn when deemed necessary by the Site Safety Officer. <br /> Disposable nitrile rubber gloves will be worn for sampling(changed after each sample). <br /> Disposable clothing will be discarded to an appropriate storage container as necessary. <br /> 2.3 EYE PROTECTION <br /> Safety glasses will be wom during all activities. <br /> 2.4 VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY <br /> All Condor vehicles used on site during the course of work shall be equipped with a fust aid kit and a dry <br /> chemical fire extinguisher(10 BC minimum rating). <br /> All cabs are to be kept free of all non-essential items and all loose items secured. <br /> The rated load capacity of a vehicle is not to be exceeded at any time or under any circumstances. <br /> The Site Health & Safety Officer shall review with all personnel and subcontractors the equipment <br /> inspection checklist for company vehicles. The Site Health & Safety Officer shall also confirm that <br /> adequate water is available at the drill rig for emergency decontamination and washing in case a worker is <br /> exposed to contaminated water or sail. <br /> Field vehicles shall park in an area that is a safe distance from operating equipment and vehicle traffic <br /> with the location approved by the Site Safety Officer. Care must be given when approaching heavy <br /> equipment. Personnel on foot should approach from a direction facing the operator and not a blind side. <br /> Eye-to-eye contact should be made before proceeding within the working limits of the operator and their <br /> heavy equipment. <br /> 2.5 UNDERGROUND UTILITIES <br /> Condor personnel have contacted Underground Service Alert prior to drilling activities. The property <br /> owner is responsible for marking the location of their own underground utilities. The approximate <br /> location of underground utilities shall be marked on the existing ground surface. A minimum of 3 feet <br /> clearance shall be given to marked utilities. If drilling near utilities is required, hand excavation and <br /> probing shall be performed in 6-inch intervals prior to drilling. <br /> 3.0 PHYSICAL HAZARDS <br /> 3.1 TRIP AND SLIP PROTECTION <br /> Good housekeeping shall be maintained at the site to prevent trip and slip hazards. <br />
