It is - our understanding that a <br /> company called U .S .Gasahoi , Inc . has title to the property and <br /> ;{ they filed for bankruptcy in 1981 . We are aware that San Joaquin <br /> County is in a first position with their tax lien . We believe <br /> that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation also is in line <br /> with a lien against the property . <br /> At this Juncture in. time,;; we have no interest in the property <br /> legally . Our only involvement is as that of a potentia ! <br /> ;.� purchaser . The incident which caused the l=ire Department and <br /> :i Regulatory Agencies to be on scene as' well as the materials at <br /> the property which need disposal are not ours . As we have no <br /> legal position in the property , we are unable to address 'the' <br /> cleanup issues . <br /> In that regard , I have attached a copy of the letter from <br /> Acting Batallion Fire Chief James G . Martinez of the Mokelumne <br /> Rural ounty Fire Department . This letter should be directed to <br /> the responsible property owner by your department . For your <br /> further information , in walking the property , we hive discovered <br /> that there is an site what appears to be an approximate 500 <br /> gallon underground empty gasoline tank and it has been reported <br /> to us that approximately twenty years ago this facility ' s bol:ler :. <br /> A operated on bunker fuel prior to switching to natural gas . We <br /> have followed what appears to be the old bunker -Fuel lines .and <br /> } discovered what appears to be an old underground bunker tank <br /> which may be 10 , 000 gallons or more and has a substantial <br /> quantity of bunker oil. stiil in the vault .
