Failed to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste. The facility has a power washer and sump for
cleaning equipment and vehicles. The sump waste is hauled as non-hazardous waste by a contractor.
The facility could not provide hazardous waste determination documentation for this oily water and sludge
waste. Make a hazardous waste determination for this waste and keep this documentation at the facility
for review by CUPA inspectors.
126. Used oil disposal receipts were observed on site (dated 7-1-13 and others) with the old, inactive
EPA hazardous waste generator number CAL000141919. Use the current, active EPA hazardous waste
generator number CAL000207533 for all hazardous waste disposal manifests and receipts.
605. One drum partially full of oily solids was marked with an out-of-date accumulation start date of
3-7-13. The facility personnel indicated that the drum was emptied by the hazardous waste hauler in
June and the correct accumulation start date is 6-24-13. Corrected during the inspection. Violation
resolved.
Note
1. 1 discussed the consolidation site and maintenance operations with Steve Azevedo. I provided the
requirements to haul not more than 55 gallons of used oil (HSC 25250.12) and the consolidation site
rules for non-RCRA hazardous waste (HSC 25110.10, 25121.3, 25163.3).
ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE.
THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE
Inspector: Received By: Title:
T
E -0 ev 04/19/12 Page 4 HW INSPECTION REPORT
