• ! <br /> KNIFE RIVER CONSTRUCTION <br /> F AZARDOUS WASTE TRAINING PLAN <br /> Position: Heavy (Duty Repairman/Welder/Mechanic <br /> Job Description/gener I summary of duties and responsibilities: <br /> • Ability to troubl shoot and perform repair and maintenance work on all types of equipment <br /> used at Knife Ri er Construction as required. Including but not limited to truck engines and <br /> earthmoving eq ipment. <br /> • Will also perfor standard welding operations associated with repairs of earthmoving <br /> equipment.To i clude general welding, burning and fitting. <br /> • Work alone wit out supervision or as part of a team. <br /> • Perform routin preventive maintenance fluid and filer changes as outlined on work orders. <br /> • Work with petr leum and other equipment related chemicals. <br /> • Clean up small azardous material spills during non-emergency events. <br /> • Place hazardous waste in properly labeled containers. <br /> • Notify supervisor of spills and potential spills. <br /> • In the event supervisor is not available notify the proper authorities. <br /> Job Requirements/special conditions of employment: <br /> • Minimum of(3)years experience as mechanic. Preferably background repair on truck engines <br /> with ability to troubleshoot, and rebuild all types of Caterpillar engines and earthmoving <br /> equipment. <br /> • Must be a member of Operating Engineers Local 3, or willing to become one. <br /> • Must have a valid CA driver's license, and a current DMV printout. <br /> • Knowledge of labeling and handling hazardous wastes. <br /> • Flexible work schedule. <br /> • Must have demonstrated knowledge, and proficiency in use of all welding equipment, and <br /> machinist tools. Certified welder preferred, but not required. <br /> Experience&Training: <br /> • Member of Operators Engineers Local 3 Union. <br /> • Valid CA Driver's License. <br /> • Have completed and understand the Hazardous Waste Training Program Knife River <br /> Construction. <br /> • Receive Hazardous Waste Refresher Training Annually. <br /> • Current MSHA training. <br /> • ARC and GAS welding experience. <br /> • Completed and passed forklift training. <br /> • Completed first aid/CPR training. <br />
