Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Subject: DIAMOND LUMBER COMPANY
SUMMARY OF SOIL AND GROUND
WATER ASSESSMENT WORK
LODI, CALIFORNIA
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
This letter report presents a summary of the investigative
work conducted by J. H. Kleinfelder & Associates for Diamond
Lumber at 224 North Main Street in Lodi , California.
SOILS INVESTIGATION
To date, a total of nine soil samples have been analyzed for
BTX and two samples for total lead. The soil samples were
collected from borings placed adjacent to the excavation on
February 19 , 1985 and from the tank excavation pit on February 27 ,
1985 . Analytical results of the soil samples have been previously
submitted to the County Health Department by our Stockton office,
Mr. Mark Morton of Diamond Lumber , and/or Canonie Laboratory.
Field observations and procedures were described in our letter of
March 7, 1985 addressed to Diamond Lumber and copied to the County
Health Department .
The analytical results showed non-detectable levels of BTX and
lead. These results indicate that previous removal of the
shallower soils was sufficient to mitigate soil contamination from
the leaking underground gasoline storage tank.
GROUND WATER ANALYSIS
On March 20, 1985 , J. H. Kleinfelder and Associates placed a
temporary monitoring well approximately five feet south of the
excavation pit. This well was installed in response to agency
concerns for the public well located approximately two blocks
OTHER OFFICES:
Fairfield .
