Page 2 <br /> III . Data Acquisition <br /> i <br /> A. Soil sampling. <br /> I <br /> 1 . Soil samples will be collected at 5 foot depth intervals , ! <br /> using a California modified split spoon sampler. <br /> 2. Modified standard penetration tests (using a California <br /> modified split spoon sampler) will be performed at <br /> sampling intervals where possible. <br /> 3. Samples will be reserved in brass rings according to the <br /> USA Sampling, Analysis, and Quality Assurance Requirements <br /> (January 30, 1987) . Therefore, samples will not be extracted j <br /> in the field. <br /> 4. Soil samples at 5 foot depth intervals will be analyzed <br /> in the field using an H-NU, using the USA - approved <br /> procedure. <br /> B. Well Hydraulic Data. <br /> 1 . Liquid levels (depth to first encountered groundwater or <br /> product) , thickness of hydrocarbons, presence of odor <br /> will be noted as outlined in the USA memorandum. <br /> C. Hydrocarbon Sampling. <br /> 1 . Will be required at the request of USA• . <br /> D. Water Sampling. : <br /> 1 . Will be preformed using USA approved procedures (see <br /> attached summary laboratory analysis for each site) . <br /> IV. Data Evaluation and Write-up will include the following: <br /> 1 . General description of location and surrounding area ( land <br /> use, etc. ) <br /> 2. Site History (construction/tank installation dates , types <br /> of U/G tanks and product storage, spill/leak history, <br /> waste/water handling , water supply, etc. ) <br /> 3. Surface topography and drainage patterns (recharge, <br /> discharge areas) <br /> 4. Soil types and expected permeabilities <br /> S. Local geology (general ) <br /> 6. Depth to groundwater and flow patterns <br /> 7. Extent of both soil and groundwater contamination <br /> 8. Groundwater usage <br /> 9. Regulatory constraints <br /> 10. Other factors which may affect present and future <br /> liabilitiesr, <br /> i <br />
