(Stratus) has prepared this Work Plan for Confirmation Soil
Borings (Work Plan), on behalf of USA Gasoline Corporation (USA), for USA Station
No. 65 (the site), located at 2500 West Lodi Avenue, Lodi, California (see Figure 1). '
Subsurface petroleum hydrocarbon impact has previously been identified beneath the
subject property; subsequent remedial efforts at the site appear to have effectively
mitigated thishydrocarbon impact. In a document titled Site Conceptual: Model
(December 27, 2005), Stratus personnel recommended that apost-remediation subsurface
investigation be completed to evaluate current petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in
soil, and to verify the effectiveness of remedial efforts. In a letter dated March 29, 2006,
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) personnel concurred
with this recommendation, and requested that a work plan to complete a post-remediation
subsurface assessment be submitted.
This Work Plan proposes the advancement of three soil borings, and two cone
penetrometer test (CPT) borings at the site. The three soil borings will be situated near
areas where petroleum hydrocarbon impacted .soil was identified prior to remediation.
The CPT borings will be advanced downgradient of the petroleum hydrocarbon source
area, as requested by SJCEHD personnel in the March 29, 2006 letter. Details associated
with completion of the proposed soil borings are described in the following sections of
this document.
KaUSA Gasoline100651Workplanslusa65-boring-cpt-workplan.doe
