The influent concentrations have dropped by 95% (from 5,500 mg/m3 to 250 mg/m3 TPHG) since system startup in August 2000. The SVES extracted approximately 444 pounds of TPHG during the third quarter 2001, and a cumulative mass of 3088.48 pounds of TPHG since startup. The SVES is in compliance with the SJVUAPCD. Stratus will shut down the system for two weeks to pulse the vadose zone. Stratus will restart the system and continue to optimize and maintain the SVES during the fourth quarter 2001. CONCLUSIONS Concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel oxygenates in groundwater are generally consistent with previous sampling events. Groundwater flow direction outside of the radius of the SVES was toward the south-southeast at an average gradient of 0.004 ft/ft. The SVES extracted approximately 444 pounds of TPHG during the third quarter 2001.
