i
and MW7 . These are located to the North, Northeast, and South
respectively of MW6 . Knowledge of the the areal extent of the
Benzene contamination is hampered by the loss of a sampling point
at MW4 which is located approximately half way between MW3 and MW6
along the dip of the ground water gradient.
A recheck of the sampling data was made by Matrix Environmental
Laboratories to insure that the apparent migration of hydrocarbon
contamination from the vicinity of MW3 to MW6 was not an artifact
of mislabled samples or sampling results. No errors or
inconsistencies were found.
CONCLUSIONS
I. MW6 showed 35 ppb Benzene and . 1 ppm TFH as gasoline. All
other wells showed no detectable levels of contamination.
2 . The ground water flow direction is presently in a south,
southeasterly direction.
3 . S1 , S2 and MW4 were not sampled. MW-4 could not be located.
S1 and S-2 were dry.
4. Hydrocarbon contamination has migrated off site.
LIMITATIONS
. The discussion and conclusions presented in this report are based
on the following:
I. The observations and data collected by field personnel .
2 . The results of laboratory analyses performed by a state
certified lab.
3 . Our understanding of the regulations of the State of
California and San Joaquin County and/or City of Lodi,
California.
4. Review of existing literature concerning this site and the
San Joaquin County area.
Changes in ground water conditions can occur due to variations in
rainfall, temperature, local and regional water usage and local
construction practices. In addition, variations in the soil and
ground water conditions could exist beyond the points explored in
this investigation.
State certified analytical results are included in this report.
This laboratory follows EPA and State of California approved
procedures; however, WEGE is not responsible for errors in these
laboratory results.
•
4
