THIRD QUARTER 1996
QUARTERLY MONITORING REPORT
USA STATION#65 - LODI
SEPTEMBER, 1996
Test results are summarized in the WEGE report Results of Pilot Test for Vapor Extraction,
dated April 17, 1995
USA retained Park to prepare a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) The rationale and design of the
necessary environmental remediation and sampling activities at the site were presented in Park's
RAP dated November, 1995 and in a subsequent letter to the County, dated February 28, 1996
3.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The following is a brief summary of the scope of work authorized by USA
i Locate and measure depths to groundwater and free product thicknesses in
groundwater monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8, S-1 and S-2,
' 0 Purge a minimum of three equivalent well volumes of groundwater from each of
the sampled wells, monitor pH, temperature and conductivity,
c Collect groundwater samples from the purged monitoring wells,
® Analyze water samples for TPH G and BTEX, using EPA Methods 8015 Modified
and 8020,respectively,
1 • Prepare this QMR for submittal to USA and the County, and
• Resample wells
4.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING
The following section discusses field protocol used during data collection for this QMR
4.1 Groundwater Elevations
Upon gauging depths to groundwater, the groundwater monitoring wells were checked for the
presence of free floating hydrocarbon using an interface probe Depths to groundwater
measurements were then taken from each well from surveyed marks on the casing using an
electric water level sensor or interface probe Calculated groundwater elevations are presented in
Table 1 The field data sheets are included in Appendix A
3
