Mr.Harlin Knoll December 8,2000
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Project No. 2007-0065-01
Environmental Health Division
' Page 4
presented in Appendix B and certified analytical reports and chain-of-custody
documentation for air samples are included in Appendix C.
The SVES has extracted a cumulative mass of 222.97 pounds (approximately 36 gallons
of gasoline) quantified as TPHG from the subsurface. The mass extraction rates have
decreased from 14.03 to 4.54, due to the decrease of influent TPHG concentrations.
TPHG concentrations have decreased by approximately eighty percent (80%) since
startup, correspondingly the flow rate into the catalytic oxidizer have been increased.
The SVES is in compliance with the SJVUAPCD. Stratus will continue to optimize and
maintain the SVES in the fourth quarter.
CONCLUSIONS
' The highest concentrations of TPHG, TBA, MTBE, and benzene in groundwater were 1
detected in the sample collected from monitoring well S-1 and the highest concentrations
of toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes and TAME in groundwater were detected in the sample
collected from monitoring well S-2. Dissolved phase petroleum hydrocarbons were also
detected in the samples collected from monitoring wells MW-3 and MW-8. Groundwater
flow direction was toward the south at an average gradient of 0.004. The SVES has
extracted a cumulative mass of approximately 222 pounds of TPHG during the third
quarter 2000.
STATEMENT OF LIMITATIONS
The services described in this report were performed consistent with generally accepted
professional consulting principals and practices.
