Figure 3:illustrates the rocess flow
US Filters Vent Scrub carbon adsorption vessels ins g p
diagram for SVE system. "
SVE System Start up and Operation
Stratus proposes'to conduct system start=up and source testing programs for the proposed SVE
remediation system during the first 2 days of system operation. Thd following parameters will
be monitored and recorded on field data sheets during the system start"up:
• Vapor extraction rate,
• Applied vacuum at.each vapor extraction well,
• Influent flow in to the system, and
• PID measurements for organic vapors from the extraction wells.
JI
During the source testing, one set of influent and effluent air samples will be collected and
forwarded to a state-certified laboratory for analysis. The air samples will be analyzed on a 24-
hour turnaround basis for total petroleum hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPHG) by United States
Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Method 8015, and for benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary butyLi ether (MTBE) by USEPA
Method 8260. Analytical. results will be used to -calculate the destruction efficiency of the
system. Manufacturer's literature states that the destruction efficiency for the system for
petroleum hydrocarbons is 95-99.99 percent. F
Stratus will prepare, and submit to San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District, a
source test report presenting the analytical results ofyapor samples, tabulated field observations,
and destruction efficiencies of the system.
If you have any questions, please contact Gowri Kowtha at (530) 676'6001.
Sincerely,
OTRATU5 ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.
. `
i Kiran Nagaraju Go ri S.
