L
r w
Ms.Lisa Middleton October 19,2000
Page 2 Project No.2007-0065-01
{ Laboratory, for chemical analysis with appropriate chain-of-custody documentation.
Analytical results of samples collected on August 15 and 21, 2000 are included in Appendix
A. The total flow into the catalytic oxidizer was determined by the inline flow meter and
verified by use of a field manometer. All field measurements were recorded on field data
sheets, included in Appendix B.
Analytical results of the soil vapor samples collected during the source tests were used to
calculate mass extraction and emission rates and destruction efficiencies. Table 1 presents a
' summary of the system operating parameters, analytical results and destruction efficiencies.
Example calculations are included in Appendix C.
{ Soil vapors were extracted on August 15, 2000 at the rate 15.9 lbs/day total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG), emitted at 0.81 lbs/day TPHG, with an efficiency of
94.9%. The flow rate through the system was calculated to be 32.16 cfm. Soil vapors were
extracted on August 21, 2000 at the rate 4.39 lbs/day TPHG, emitted less than 0.03 lbs/day
TPHG, with an efficiency of greater than 99.3%. The flow rate through the system was
+' calculated to be 34.88 cfm.
4 S
i The overall results of the source tests demonstrate compliance with the conditions listed in the
ATC;';therefore, Straus requests that the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control
I District issue a permit to operate (PTO) for the SVE system.
{ If you have any questions, please me at(530) 676-6001.
Sincerely,
STRATUS V1R NMEWAL, INC.
G wtha
Project Manager
Attachments: Table 1 Summary of Analytical Results
Figure 1 Site Topographic Map
Figure 2 Site Layout
Appendix A Laboratory Analysis Reports and Chain-of-Custody Records
Appendix B Field Data Sheets
Appendix C Example Calculation: Destruction Efficiency
cc: , Mr. Srikanth Dasappa, USA Gasoline Corporation
Mr. Harlan Knoll, San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Ul
C:Trojeci FileslUSA Gasoline10651Corresponden cc\Middleton-Source Test.doc 5TRATUS
