Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Thursday, April 10, 2014 1:37 PM
To: 'bmillman@advgeoenv.com'
Subject: RE: Main Street Investments-601 Main Street, Stockton, CA-Approval letter dated 3-11-14
Attachments: QA-QC for soil gas sampling and analysis.pdf
Hi Brian,
In response to question Number 1 below, the answer is"yes".
I have appended two pages from Advisory-Active Soil Gas Investigation, dated April 2012, published
by California EPA DTSC, LA Regional Water Quality Control Board and SF Regional Water Quality Control
Board. Section 6.3.2 of the appended information explains the differences between collecting a duplicate
sample verses collecting a replicate sample. Please collect a duplicate sample in a Summa canister and
analyze the sample for TPH-g, BTEX, MTBE, ETBE, TAME, DIPE, TBA, EDB, 1-2-DCA and IPA. Please collect a
replicate sample when collecting the TO-17 sample and analyze the sample for naphthalene, TPH-d and TPH-
mo.
In response to question Number 2 below, the answer is"yes". Analyze the trip blank for naphthalene, TPH-d
and TPH-mo. Please refer to Section 6.3.1. of Advisory-Active Soil Gas Investigation concerning trip blanks.
In response to question Number 3 below, a material blank tests the soil gas probe, tip and tubing
assembly to determine if materials used for soil gas sampling contain any of the contaminants of concern. For
this reason, the material blank should be analyzed prior to soil gas sampling. Please refer to Section 6.3.1.
of Advisory-Active Soil Gas Investigation concerning material blanks.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are still unclear about the conditions listed in the EHD letter dated 11
March 2014.
Thanks, Brian, for asking.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209) 468-9852
Email: vmccartnev(dsicehd.com
t
y
From: Brian Millman [mailto:bmillman@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Thursday, April 10, 2014 10:18 AM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Subject: Main Street Investments - 601 Main Street, Stockton, CA - Approval letter dated 3-11-14
Hi Vicki, I have a couple questions regarding the conditions in the work plan approval letter,
dated 11 March 2014, for Main St Investments.
1. Condition#3 states to collect one duplicate soil gas sample and analyze the duplicate for
4/10/2014
