This boring will be advanced at
least 15 feet into first encountered ground waterand completed as a 2-inch diameter-ground
water monitoring well.
Each boring will be advanced utilizing a truck-mounted,hollow.stem drill rig equipped with 8-inch
diameter hollow-stem augers.Total depths ofborings ma vary according to hydrogeologic/geologic
conditions encountered during drilling.
'Selected soil samples will be analyzed.by a' State of California Department of Health Services
(DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituen s:
• TPH-d and TPH-g in accordance with EPAMe od $015 Modified/5030;
• BTEX compounds and MTBE in accordance wi h EPA Method'8020; and
• Fuel oxygenated compounds including MTBE,TA,DIPE;ethyl,tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE)
and tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME)by EPA Method 8260 Modified.
Laboratory reports for the soil analyses;testingmethods,I aboratory quality assurance/qualitycontrol
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody"docum ntation will be presented in a report with
findings and recommendations. .
3.3. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND DEVELOPMENT
As indicated above; at least three borings will be colnpeted.$s ground water monitoring wells to
assess petroleum hydrocarbon impacted ground_water Proposed-monitoring well locat_ions are
illustrated on Figure 2.
Followingwell installation, each well will be developed to maximize water flow and minimize the
amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing.Procedures-for well
installation and development are presented in Sections .2. and 4.3., respectively.
3.4. GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION 'ANALYSIS
Ground water monitoring and sampling activities for each newly installed ground water monitoring
well will be conducted on a quarterly basis unless an alternate.schedule or suspension of monitoring
r is approved by the PHS-EHD. Ground water moni.toring, activities will include recording depth to
-groundwater measurements and collection,of ground Water samples.Groundwater sample collection
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
