i
09 April 2002
AGE-NC Project No 98-0497
' 43 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES
A total of 9 soil samples were analyzed as described in Section 3 1 None of the target analytes were
detected in the soil samples Analytical results of soil samples are summarized on Table 2 The
laboratory report(McCampbell Lab IDs 90830, 90832, 90834,90843,90852, 90856,90860,90862
and 90865), is included in Appendix E
5.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the findings from this investigation, AGE concludes
• On 18 February 2002,the depth to ground water in monitoring wells MW-4 and MW-5 was
60 23 feet bsg and 59 98 feet bsg,respectively The ground water elevations were 35 72 feet
below MSL in MW-4 and 35 74 feet below MSL in MW-5
• Chemicals of concern were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in the nine soil
samples submitted for laboratory analysis
• Based on the analytical results of soil samples collected during February 2002 and previous
subsurface investigations, cross sections Illustrating the inferred vertical and horizontal
extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil were constructed (Figures 5 and 6) Hydrocarbon-
impacted soil appears to be defined laterally to the north, south, east and west by soil borings
MW-3, MW-2, 13-1 and MW-4, respectively The most impacted soil was encountered
' beneath the former UST location to depths as great as 70 feet bsg Minor concentrations of
TPH-d, xylenes and MTBE were detected at 75 feet bsg Target analytes were not detected
above laboratory reporting limits in two samples collected from soil boring P-3 (located
within the former UST location)at depths of 80 feet bsg and 90 feet bsg TPH-d was detected
at 7 8 mg/kg in the sample collected from P-3 at a depth of 100 feet bsg,TPH-g,BTEX and
fuel oxygenates were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in the same sample
1
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing In this or similar Iocalities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this Investigation was made from a limited number of
' available data points (soil samples and ground water monitoring wells) and subsurface conditions
may vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the
professional interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
1 Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
,1
