a Mr Ron Rowe BRIA February 1, 2000 CAM ' laboratory will work with the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCEHD) to establish a sampling and analytical protocol for the work The first two sets of samples will be analyzed on 24-hour turn around Subsequent samples will be analyzed on normal 2-week turn around GWE Carbon Changeouts. When hydrocarbons are detected in the sample collected from the midfluent sampling location, a carbon changeout will be performed A carbon changeout will consist of removing and replacing the activated carbon filter media in the first carbon vessel in series, then placing that vessel as the second vessel in series GWE Modifications. Cambria is currently analyzing alternative treatment technologies to remove hydrocarbons and fuel oxygenates from ground water The GWE system was designed to be adaptable to changes in the treatment stream As the system operates, and more information is generated, the system may be modified to include additional carbon filtration vessels, or other treatment methods Cambria will also monitor the impact of the pumping on the ground water table over time in site wells completed at various depths The pumping rate may be adjusted to achieve the desired capture zone The GWE system was designed and installed so that a second pump could easily be installed in well EW-2 and added to the system, if that is deemed necessary If major modifications are called for, Cambria will submit brief work plans for approval by the SJCEHD that will include the proposed modifications, and their Justification We appreciate the opportunity to work with you on this project Please call if you have any questions or comments Sincerely, Cambria EnvironmntaI Technology, Inc.
