(7) Corrective action taken to date includes the excavation and stockpiling of UST backfill material. In addition,exploratory excavation was performed on September 23, 1996 at all known and potential hydrocarbon source areas. Confirmation of hydrocarbon impact and stockpile characterization will be performed as part of the corrective action activities proposed in Pacific Environmental Group's Corrective Action Plan dated August 27, 1996. On March 31, 1995 an environmental investigation was performed on behalf of the current property owner. Twelve exploratory soil borings were drilled at and around all suspected hydrocarbon source areas on the property. Samples collected detected gasoline contamination in soil within the former fuel UST complex. A final report documenting all UST removal activities,excavations, soil stockpile characterization,and disposition will be submitted to San Joaquin County Public Health Services within 45 days of completing corrective action activities. The need for future site investigation will be determined upon review of the results from the corrective action activities. (8) The method of cleanup implemented to date has been limited to the excavation of UST backfill material and hydrocarbon-impacted soil beneath the UST and piping areas. Further cleanup activities will be determined upon review of corrective action results. Once the need for further cleanup has been determined,a proposal describing the recommended procedure will be submitted to San Joaquin County Public Health Services. (9) A total of approximately four hundred and twenty five cubic yards of soil were stockpiled at the subject site. This backfill material was generated during the removal of the UST, the former fuel UST complex backfill,and during all exploratory excavation activities. All stockpiled soil was sampled by Pacific Environmental Group according to those protocol outlined in their corrective action plan. Once stockpile characterization has been performed, approval for offsite disposal will be requested from BFI Vasco Road landfill in Livermore, California.Upon receiving approval from San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Chevron will place stockpiled soil from the waste oil UST excavation back into the same excavation and cap the surface to prevent infiltration of surface water. (10)Not applicable. The planned use of the property does not involve any UST's or fuel dispensing equipment. (11)Future releases will be prevented by remediating those hydrocarbon source areas known to exist at the subject site. (d) Chevron will comply with all reporting requirements specified within this subsection. (e) Chevron will conduct initial abatement,site characterization,and additional corrective action as specified within this subsection,within sections 2653,2654,and within Article 11. (f) Chevron understands the language within this subsection.
