Main Street at F Street <br /> Stockton,California i <br /> I ' <br /> The site is located at the northeast comer of East Main Street and F Street in Stockton, <br /> California. The site is currently vacant. Formerly a Chevron Syervice Station(9-6258) 1 <br /> operated at the site. Based on recent field investigations,the waste oil underground <br /> storage tank and sump are still located on the site. <br /> In accordance with the corrective action plan on file with San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Department,Environmental Health Division(SJCEHD)�1 dated September 2, <br /> 1996,the following work will be performed: ' <br /> 1)the removal of the waste oil tank and sump,and any remaining facilities associated i <br /> with the former Chevron Service Station,and 2)sampling of sdil beneath these facilitiesi <br /> to confirm the presence of and evaluate the extent of hydrocarbons in soil at the subject ! <br /> site. Applicable permits for the removal of known or suspected tanks,product piping, <br /> and debris will be obtained by Chevron's contractor prior to th6 start of any work. <br /> Work will be performed during weekday daylight hours. Earthmoving equipment may <br /> include a backhoe, an excavator,a loader,and other equipment Jas appropriate. <br /> Excavated soils and debris that contains petroleum hydrocarbons will be placed on and ' <br /> covered with plastic sheeting and temporarily stored onsite. Stockpiled soil that <br /> contains petroleum hydrocarbons will either be aerated onsite or will be removed from <br /> the site for disposal at a suitable landfill. Once acceptable levels are achieved,the <br /> aerated soil will then be used as backfill. The waste oil tank and all debris will be <br /> removed from the site. Excavation activities will be observed by SJCEHD and <br /> PACIFIC representatives. Soil samples will be collected and ai alyzed per SJCEHD <br /> requirements. Upon receipt of sample results,PACIFIC will prepare and submit to <br /> SJCEHD a letter report summarizing removal activities and sampling results. Work is <br /> anticipated to continence during September 1996. <br /> ! <br /> 1 <br /> TOTAL P.S2 <br />
