Seven proposed exploratory soil
borings will be drilled at the general locations shown on Figure 2.
Four of the seven borings will be drilled to first encountered
groundwater (estimated to be 50 feet bgs) and three of the seven
borings will be drilled approximately 15 feet into groundwater and
converted into groundwater monitoring wells (estimated to be 65 feet
bgs). Additionally, if the results of the geophysical survey suggest the
presence of underground facilities, additional borings may be drilled
to investigate the potential presence of hydrocarbons in soil in these
areas.
• Well Surveying and Sampling. Upon completion of the installation,
the wells will be surveyed by a licensed surveyor to mean sea level
(msl), and developed prior to initial purging and sampling.
• Soil and Groundwater Analysis. Selected soil samples and
groundwater samples will be submitted to a California State-certified
laboratory and analyzed for the presence of TPPH-g and BTEX
compounds. In addition, selected soil and groundwater samples
collected from the boring/well in the area of the former waste oil tank
will be analyzed for the presence of total extractable petroleum
hydrocarbons (TEPH), chlorinated hydrocarbons, the metals
cadmium, chromium, lead, and zinc, and PCBs, PCPs, PNAs, and'
creosote.
• Report A report will be prepared after completion of necessary field
work. The report will include boring logs and well construction
details, boring and well location map, soil and groundwater analytical
results,chain-of-custody documentation, and findings.
Field and laboratory procedures are presented as Attachment A.
i
i
SCHEDULE
PACIFIC is prepared to initiate field work within 2 weeks following approval of this
work plan by the San Joaquin County Department of Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division and the securing of permits. A report documenting the
findings of the investigation is anticipated to be submitted approximately 10 to 12 weeks
after the commencement of field work.
9200391 A/wPLAN
