Main Street
Manteca, California
Date: September 16, 1997
Pages: 1, Including this cover sheet.
Mr. Rowe:
As you know, the hoists are being replaced at the above-referenced site. Work has
been completed on two of the site's three hoists. The third hoist has been removed,
but the new hoist was not yet installed as of yesterday afternoon.
Samples were collected of soil from the bottom of each hoist tank excavation. The
samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as hydraulic oil (TPHho)
using modified EPA Method 8015, and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes
(BTEX)using EPA Method 8020.
Stockpiled soil from hoist removal activities has been placed on and covered with
visqueen on site. Stockpile samples will be analyzed for TPHho,BTEX,and total lead
for disposal. Following review of analytic results, the stockpiled soil will be
transported to a landfill for disposal.
Please contact me at 510-420-3315 If you have any questions or comments.
Thank you,
Josh Bergstrom
I
From the desk of...
Josh Bergstrom
Geologist
Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc.
1144 65th Street,Suite C
Oakland,CA 94608
(510)420-3315
Fax: (510)420.9170
F:\PROJECT\SHELL1Mant16711Fgx-HpiS1 S3mDling.W Pb
