At Cherokee
Freight Lines we go to great lengths to stay in compliance with all state and local
environmental rules and regulations. All hazardous waste generated at our facility is
carefully stored in properly labeled containers until hauled away by Safety Kleen
Services under proper manifest.
All barrels used to contain our hazardous waste are now inspected daily to make sure
the hazardous waste labels are filled in correctly with the correct accumulation start date
and other required information. I have discussed with our waste hauler and our own
employees the importance of keeping this information current and correct. I have
enclosed a copy of the manifest that shows the date that the 55 gallon drum without the
accumulation start date was picked up by Safety Kleen for disposal.
I have updated our contingency plan to be in compliance with the code section you left
me at the time of our inspection. I have enclosed a copy for your inspection as per the
inspection report.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at 209-444-7325 or Richard Hiatt
at 444-7339.
Thank Yoi
on, Compliance Manager
