Cherokee Rd., Stockton
3590 E. Cherokee Rd., Stockton
To: Mr. Dennis Carvalho, of Safety Kleen,
The following is the list of questions that I still have regarding Cherokee Freight Lines oil/water separator
sludge and waste water that is currently being disposed of from the above referenced site under your Vacuum
Services Waste Program.
• When was the determination made to change the oil/water separator waste disposal method for the above
referenced sites from the California Hazardous Waste Uniform Manifest system to the non-hazardous
record system?
• Were samples taken from the sludge and waste water separately prior to making the determination to
handle these waste streams as non-hazardous? (If so, please provide a copy to this department.)
• The fact sheet that you provide your customer states that, "For vacuum services waste from industrial
customers (non-automotive), Safety-Kleen uses a thorough 5-point RCRA/TSCA test". Please clarify
how the automotive waste source from the above referenced sites can be used in your vacuum services
program when your fact sheet states otherwise.
• Please explain your routine sampling process performed prior to disposal.
Please remit this information to my attention.
Thank you,
Michelle Le, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
304 E.
