4 I
TO: File---5463 E. Cherokee
FROM: Doug Wilson, Supervising REHS
DATE: June 17, 1993
RE: Cherokee Freight Lines
5463 E. Cherokee Lane
possible location of underground tank.
I received a call on this date stating that a underground tank had
been abandon on the site in 1984 . The tank had been covered up and
the fuel had not been removed. The tank outlets had been removed
and a aboveground tank was placed on top of this tank to hide the
location of the tank. The caller also stated that a waste oil tank
existed in the shop building under the floor. No evidence of these
tanks exits at the surface and further investigation would be
needed to determine if they exist and what contamination my have
been caused by improper abandonment. Note that the existence of
these tanks could only be determined by excavation.
