Marci's Diesel Service -4 - November 28, 2011
DIESEL RANGE ORGANICS Results for MW-3
400: 42
i
350.t _
47
300.1 ...
_. Further investigation at this site is unlikely to benefit the people of
California.
REVISED, December 2010, though there is a significant mass of heavy hydrocarbons in the
vadose zone, the Fund believes residual hydrocarbons do not threaten local water resources
and further active remediation is unlikely to reach Water Quality Objectives more rapidly or cost
effectively. The Fund continues to recommend that the San Joaquin County LOP consider this
site for closure.
UPDATED, December 2011, source area monitoring wells MW-4 and MW-7 have historically
had elevated concentrations of TPHd in groundwater. However, after 11 years of monitoring,
the groundwater plume is largely limited to the source area. Analytical data indicate that WQOs
have been achieved in the down gradient well. Groundwater within the source area will likely
remain above WQOs for years to decades. The affected shallow groundwater is not used as a
source of water supply nor is it likely to be used as a source of water supply in the foreseeable
future. Water users in the vicinity of the site rely on a public water supply. Based on facts in the
record and hydrologic and geologic conditions at the site, the limited residual petroleum
hydrocarbons that remain in soil and groundwater pose a low risk to human health, safety and
the environment. The Fund recommends that the San Joaquin County LOP review this site for
closure.
Kirk Larson, P.G. Date Robert Trommer, C.H.G.
