Geological Technics Inc. tested several methodologies including
bioventing, biosparging, soil vapor extraction and dual phase extraction between November 26 and
December 14, 2007 on-site to find the best methodology to address the residual diesel contamination
at the 2969 Loomis Road site in Stockton, California.
The results of the tests conducted during-the above mentioned 20=day period was reported by GTI on
March 5, 2008. SJCEHD in response to this report in their correspondence dated October 17, 2008
directed GTI to do further tests on Dual Phase Extraction (DPE) methodology as it appears more
effective than bioventing and biosparging and the previous pilot test failed to quantify TPH-Gasoline
# and TPH-Diesel in the extracted soil vapor. GTI submitted the Pilot Test Work Plan,Additional Dual
Phase Extraction Pilot Test, on October 30, 2008. SJCEHD in their correspondence dated December
{ 31, 2008 directed GTI to revise the work plan and address the EHD reservations regarding the DPE
test design due to the limited screen lengths of EW-1 and EW-101, and the very limited vadose zone
` addressed by MW-5 under natural conditions.
- The following work plan explains further DPE tests in detail by considering the above mentioned
EHD reservations.. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at(209)522-4119.
Respectfully submitted,
Raynold I.
