r1p, <br /> Ms Linda Turcatte <br /> September 14, 1995 <br /> Page 3 <br /> pre-existing well MW1 and the other two wells will function as observation wells and, If <br /> necessary, act as additional extraction wells and/or injection points These outer wells will also <br /> help provide constraints on the lateral extent of contamination as required to satisfy <br /> SJCPHSEHD requirements and to fully assess the feasibility of the system <br /> All drilling and vent well construction activities will be conducted using hollow-stern <br /> auger drilling and sampling equipment and techniques Lush Geosciences will provide all <br /> materials needed to Install the system Soil samples will be collected at 5-ft intervals from each <br /> boring during drilling Three soil samples from each boring will be analyzed for TPHd and <br /> BTEX Installation of the vent wells will be in accordanct with the provisions of SJCPHSEHD <br /> and the State of California Water Resources Control Board Standards <br /> Qualifications and Experience <br /> Lush Geosciences has extensive experience across a wide range of projects Relevant <br /> experience Includes development of groundwater and vadose-zone monitoring programs and <br /> mitigation of subsurface contamination for a wide variety of contaminated sites including service <br /> stations, landfills, refineries, bulk fuel storage plants, agricultural sites, and Industrial facilities <br /> • groundwater sampling and sample analyses for Solid Waste Assessment Tests for landfills and <br /> design of the groundwater monitoring system, geologic and hydrologic characterization, and <br /> seismic assessments for the Kettleman Hills Class I Chemical Waste Disposal Facility Our <br /> personnel are very familiar with the geologic setting of the site through extensive work in the <br /> Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys The direct technical supervisor for this project will be <br /> Andrew Lush, President and Principal Geologist, a Califomia-Registered Geologist (RG 4421) <br /> with more than 14 years of experience as a professional geologist and hydrogeologist His work <br /> experience includes delineation, monitoring, and .mitigation of soil and groundwater <br /> contamination, hazard assessment, and use of geophysical, geological, and well data to create <br /> structural geologic models His work has included design, construction, development, and <br /> sampling of monitoring wells and monitoring systems at a wide variety of commercial and <br /> industrial facilities and preparation and presentation of contamination assessment and mitigation <br /> reports for contaminated sites <br /> ` Drillers will be licensed by the State of California (C-57) All personnel used onsite will <br /> be trained in the Health and Safety aspects of working with hazardous materials (minimum of 40 <br /> hours of OSHA-approved training) All chemical analytical laboratories will be certified by the <br /> 10 State of California for the required analyses <br /> Lusi-i V EO-SCIENC-ES <br />
