5. If visual examination or field screening indicates the presence of petroleum components, one
of the following options will be followed: (a)the soil boring will be completed as a groundwater
monitoring well as shown on the attached schematic diagram, (PLATE III;) or(b) augers will
be left in the hole and preserved samples will be analyzed on 24 hour TAT for BTEX, TPHg, &
TPHd. While waiting for the results of the lab analyses, the rig will be moved to the location for
the next well and the above procedure repeated.
1 6. Drill solids will be placed on plastic and properly covered. The soil will be sampled and
analyzed as required for transport to an approved disposal facility.
7. Depending upon the results of soil and water analyses, the soil borings will either be
i
completed as monitoring wells, or thoroughly grouted from total depth to the surface.
8. If one or both soil borings are converted to monitoring wells, they will be developed and
sampled within 36 to 48 hours after completion. Water samples will be analyzed for BTEX,
'i TPHg, and TPHd using San Joaquin Co. EHD approved tests and detection limits. Depth to
water in all wells will be determined during this work, and water samples will also be collected
{ from MW-1 &MW-4 & analyzed for the same constituents as the new wells. l
' 1
9. If appropriate, the elevation and surface coordinates of each well will be determined by a
licensed surveyor.
{ 10. All field operations will be supervised by a qualified geologist under the direction of a
representative of the San Joaquin Co. EHD.
i
Upon completion of the work, and receipt and analysis of the laboratory results, a report will be
submitted to the San Joaquin County EHD for review and response.
OM. . u er&Associates r 1, 1998 D GEWQCB -Mark List Wjjg j.riUMER
John Marcicprrrs•/r`
Garrison Law Corp.
