Louise <br /> Lathrop, CA 95330 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed activities to date at the above <br /> referenced facility. On March 31 and April 1, 1992 , WHF <br /> Environmental Consultants, Inc. (WHF) drilled four soil borings <br /> in the vicinity of the former underground tanks and obtained soil <br /> and groundwater samples. The "Phase I Remedial Report" dated <br /> April 8 , 1992 , prepared by WHF confirms contamination of soil and <br /> groundwater. <br /> In a letter dated March 18, 1992 , WHF discussed wells which have <br /> the potential to influence the gradient of the site. A complete <br /> survey of well ' s within 2000 feet of the site should be conducted <br /> and included in your next report. <br /> Prior to construction of the storm water pond, installation of <br /> monitoring wells outside the planned storm pond area should <br /> occur. The installation of the monitoring wells prior to pond <br /> construction should help to determine the effect of the pond on <br /> the groundwater gradient and the plume of groundwater <br /> contamination. <br /> A work plan for the installation of a minimum of three monitoring <br /> wells should be submitted to PHS/EHD by October 25, 1992 . <br /> If you have any questions contact Michael Collins, EHS, of my <br /> staff at (209) 468-0338 . <br /> Jogi Khan , M.D. , M.P.H. <br /> Health at ..icer <br /> curie A.
