1 LATHROP PROPERTY
% WKA No. 1184.02
F January 30, 1992
Page 11
,m-
i-
i.
on September 7, 1991 , to San Joaquin County Monument U-33.5, which is located
approximately 60-fest westerly from the southwesterly corner of the.subject property. Mr.
Lopes' report has been included in its entirety as Appendix D.
Well Water Elevation Measurements and Sampling
Ms. Ratliff verbally requested that four consecutive months of ground water level
measurements be made in each of the three monitoring wells on the property. Additionally,
we were to perform two quarterly sampling events of the on-site wells. The well water was
to be analyzed for TPH and BTX&E; the water obtained at the initial sampling event was also
to be analyzed for lead.
We performed the requested measurement, sampling and analysis activities. The initial
measurement and sampling event occurred September 9, 1991 and was observed by Ms.
Meays. Water level measurements were made October 11 and November 19, 1991. The
I final measurement/sampling event occurred December 9, 1991. Water level measurements
were made with a Solinst electronic well sounder. When sampling occurred, water level
measurements were made before and after sampling.
i
The wells were sampled in accordance with the California Department of Health Services Draft
i Scientific and Technical Standards for Hazardous Waste Sites. Three to five well-volumes of
= water (for the subject property, this was calculated to be at least 18 gallons per welly were
purged from the well and containerized until completion of laboratory .analysis.
r'
Parameters of well water temperature, conductivity and pH were measured during purging.
During the initial sampling event, purging was accomplished with a self-contained, Honda
centrifugal pump; a Grundfos two-inch-diameter stainless steel submersible pump attached
to a portable electrical generator was utilized during the final sampling event. The wells did
not purge to dryness and drawdown was Observed to be minimal; this is likely attributable to
the highly permeable sands in which the wells are screened. ' The water samples were
retrieved with single-usage polyethylene bailers.
Review of the ground water analytical results reveals non-detectable concentrations of TPH
and BTX&E in the initial and final (second quarter) samples.
