Louise
Lathrop, CA. 95330
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the "Phase II Site
Characterization" report, dated December 20, 1993 , submitted by
WHF, and has the following comments:
-In the next Quarterly Report, please submit a survey of wells
within 2, 000 feet, showing nearby gradients if known.
-After the gradient has been determined for this site, please
submit a workplan for additional monitoring wells to further
define the vertical and horizontal extent of soil and
groundwater contamination. Construction of the monitoring
wells shall extend down to the first acuitard, but not
below it. The existing monitoring wells terminate within the
aquifer in sandy soil. Sampling the soil during the
construction of the additional monitoring wells should be
done at the end point of the augered hole to provide
indications whether the petroleum contaminants have migrated
horizontally through the aquitard.
-This workplan may be submitted with the next Quarterly
Report, but no later than April 30, 1994 in order to remain
in compliance for SB 2004 funding.
