Fuller Mobile Home Park
365 East Louise, Lathrop, California
Phase H Site Characterization
1
1
1.0 Project Identification
' This project was developed to further investigate an underground storage tank release at the
Fuller Mobile Home Park property located at 365 E Louise Avenue, in Lathrop, California
(Figure I) The Phase H work further explored the vertical and lateral extent of the gasoline
and diesel contamination disclosed in the first phase of work
Z.0 Site Description and History
M On September 7, 1990, SEMCO, under permit, removed Fuller Mobile Home Park's fuel
facility, which consisted of two underground storage tanks, a 550 gallon diesel tank and a 1000
gallon gasoline tank Soil samples taken from beneath the tanks disclosed concentrations of
gasoline, diesel, and BTX&E
On March 31 and April 1,1992,V0HF Environmental Consultants, Inc, drilled four soil borings
in the vicinity of the former underground tanks and obtained groundwater samples from the
borings through a stainless steel well casing Soil samples for laboratory analysis«vere obtained
at 5 and 12 5 feet in depth All five foot samples were non-detect All of the 12 5 foot soil and
' groundwater samples had varying concentrations of gasoline, diesel, and BTX&E(Table 2)
t 3.0 Scope of Work
On November 17 & 18, 1993, NAW Environmental drilled three soil borings and completed
them as groundwater monitoring wells MW-1, 2 & 3 The wells were located on the shoulder
of the proposed storm water retention pond (Figure 2), and were used to determine the
groundwater gradient (Figure 4)and to define the soil and groundwater contamination (Figures
7& 8)
' Laboratory soil samples were taken from all three borings at five and ten feet below ground
Ievel A minimum of two soil samples from each boring were selected for analysis based on
odor discoloration, and previous findings by the registered professional in order to
demonstrate a clean lateral interface All other samples were held by the laboratory pending
the results of the first samples
