Fuller Mobile Home Park
365 E. Louise Ave-, Lathrop, California February 23, 1996
Phase III Site Remediation Feasibility Study & Work Plan Page: 3
to the south This well will be installed as specified under the previous monitoring well
installation work plan dated September 15, 1993 Wells MW-1 through MW-7 were
terminated at 25 feet below grade (water table plus 15 feet) Vertical definition of an
aquitard/aquiclud has not been conducted in the past, as the drilling contractor had
difficulty with heaving sands WHF has since used a different drilling contractor who
has had success with sampling under these conditions
It is proposed to drill and sample each five foot interval of this boring, until an
aquitard/aquiclud is located A soil sample will be taken within and below any
confining layer and also analyzed for BTEX, TPH-G& D A bentorute seal will then be
placed from the termination of the boring to the top of the confining layer and a well
' casing set across the full thickness of the aquifer The anticipated depth to the top of a
confining layer is approximately 35 feet below grade, as found at a nearby site in
downtown Lathrop
' The down gradient well must be positioned approximately 200 feet south of MW-3 in
an attempt to define the limits of groundwater contamination This would place the
well south of Lathrop Road, just inside the City of Lathrop easement (Figure 4)
3.3 Hydraulic Aquifer Testing
I WBF proposes to conduct a groundwater pumping test on MW-3 to determine the
aquifer hydraulic properties and the optimum pumping rate This will be a 24-hour test,
12 hours pumping and 12 hours recovery
A 1-inch pipe will be installed inside the 2-inch well casing as a riser pipe to the pump
A submersible pump will be enclosed in a sealed drum, because it's diameter is larger
' than the well casing diameter Pumped water will be routed through carbon drums and
stored on site in tank(s), awaiting analytical results
'
WI-IF will obtain a waste water discharge permit from the City of Lathrop for direct
discharge of treated water to an adjacent manhole approximately 50 feet from well
MW-3 (Figure 2)
I
' Upon receipt of your directive to proceed, WIC shall obtain the necessary permits and
schedule the work As usual, your office shall be notified 48 hours in advance of field work
1
