Decontamination will consist of the following basic steps <br /> moving from the contaminated are to the support area: <br /> Step 1 Wash and rinse boots in a two stage wash, remove and stack to dry. <br /> Step 2 Wash, rinse, and remove outer gloves, stack to dry. <br /> Step 3 Remove hard hat, wash, rinse, stack to dry. <br /> Step 4 If wearing PVC suit, wash, rinse, hang to dry. <br /> LStep 5 Remove Tyvek or Saranex suit, discard in waste container. <br /> Step 6 Remove respirator, wash, rinse, stack to dry in on break. <br /> Step 7 Proceed to decontamination trailer to wash hands, face, and neck if on <br /> break or shower at the end of the shift. <br /> Step 8 At end of shift, wash respirator thoroughly in wash solution, germicidal <br /> rinse, clean rinse, and hang to dry. <br /> L4.2 Equipment Decontamination <br /> All equipment must be thoroughly washed, rinsed, and certified decontaminated before <br /> r leaving the site. A decontamination station consisting of a vinyl catch basin and waste <br /> L collection system shall be established in the contamination reduction zone. All visible <br /> contamination dust and residue shall be removed from all equipment. <br /> 4.3 Personnel Decontamination Station Closure <br /> All disposable clothing and plastic sheeting used during the operation will be double <br /> bagged and either containerized on-site if determined non-hazardous or removed to an <br /> approved disposal facility if hazardous. Reusable rubber clothing will be dried and <br /> prepared for fixture use (if gross contamination has occurred, additional decontamination <br /> may be required). Cloth items will be bagged and removed from the site for final cleaning. <br /> All wash tubs, pail containers, etc., will be thoroughly washed, rinsed, and dried prior to <br /> removal from the site. <br /> L <br /> L <br />
