Fuller Mobile Home Park
365 E. Louise Ave-, Lathrop, California June 5, 1996
Phase III Site Remediation Feasibility Study Work Plan Page: 3
All samples shall be sealed with aluminum foil-lined plastic caps, labeled, stored on
Blue Ice& and accompanied by a Chain-Of-Custody Record. Samples shall be held for
pickup by California Laboratory Services, a State-licensed laboratory in Rancho
Cordova, California.
,Soil samples collected for analysis will be analyzed using EPA method 8020 for BTX&E,
method 5030/LUFT for TPH Gasoline and 3550/LUFT for TPH-Diesel. The minimum
L detection limits used for each analyte shall be 0.005 mg/kg for BTX&E and 1.0 mg/Kg
for gasoline and diesel.
r
L Water samples collected for analysis will be analyzed by EPA method 602 for BTX&E
compounds and method 5030 LUFT for gasoline range hydrocarbons. The minimum
detection limits used for each analyte will be 0.3 µg11- for BTX&E and 50 µg/L for
Lgasoline.
3.2 Hydraulic Aquifer Testing
LWIT proposes to conduct a groundwater pumping test on MW-3 to determine the
aquifer hydraulic properties necessary for evaluating the effectiveness of various
Lremediation techniques. It is anticipated that this will be a 24-hour test, 12 hours of
pumping and 12 hours of recovery or longer, as necessary.
MW-3, a 2-inch groundwater monitoring well, will be the pumping well and six 2-inch
monitoring wells will be measured as observation wells, MW-1, 2, 4, 5, 6 & 7. A 1-inch
pipe will be installed inside the 2-inch well casing as a riser pipe to the pump. A
submersible pump will be enclosed in a sealed drum, because it's diameter is larger than
the well casing diameter. All measurements will be made with an electric sounder and
L recorded to 0.01 feet. The pumping rate will be pre-tested at least 24 hours prior to the
main test to determine an optimum pumping rate for the test. Pumped water will be
routed through carbon drums and stored on site in tank(s), awaiting analytical results.
WHF will obtain a waste water discharge permit from the City of Lathrop for direct
discharge of treated water to an adjacent manhole approximately 50 feet from well
MW-3 (Figure 2).
Time-Drawdown curves using the Jacob Straight-Line Method (in "Ground Water and
Wells", (1972), Johnson Division, Universal Oil Products Co.) and Residual-Drawdown
Lcurves will be prepared for each observation well. A Distance-Drawdown curve will also
be plotted from the observation well data.
L
L
