A minor amount of MTBE (0.09 mg/kg) was detected in soil sample "D-
3".
In a letter dated October 17, 2003, Cardoza Enterprises was directed by San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department to submit a work plan Ao determine the vertical and
horizontal extent of the contamination (see Figures 1 & 2).
This report summarizes the soil and groundwater investigative work conducted on May 3,
2004. Geological Technics Inc. (GTI) 'installed three (3) GeoProbe boreholes (GP-1
through GP-3) to determine if soil or groundwater has been impacted with gasoline range
petroleum hydrocarbons. Soil and groundwater samples were collected for laboratory
analysis.
r 2.0. SCOPE OF INVESTIGATION
2.1 GeoProbe Installation
_ In an effort to detennine if soil or groundwater has been impacted with gasoline.range
petroleum hydrocarbons, three (3) soil borings were advanced to a depth of 24-25 feet
below ground surface (bgs). 'The boreholes were drilled with truck mounted GeoProbe
r assembly, owned and operated by V&W Drilling (C57# 720904) from Isleton, California.
L• The borehole locations were chosen for. proximity to the dispenser sample "D-3" that
contained trace MTBE (0.090 mg/kg). See Figure 2 for borehole locations.
The borehole locations were modified in the field due to underground utilities. Prior to
initiating work. Mr..
