Installation of two soil borings(B-3&B-4) to investigate the vertical and lateral extent of impacted groundwater
inferred to be perched near the northwestern dispenser island area. The work plan proposes to advance the borings
to 20 feet below surface grade(bsg).
k 2. Soil samples will be collected at five foot intervals. If perched groundwater is encountered,a sample will be collected.
3. Groundwater and/or soil samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, xylenes and fuel oxygenates by appropriate EPA approved laboratory methods.
C LN iIENT AND CONDITIONS.
1. In addition to perched groundwater,if present, the proposed soil borings must be advanced to groundwater and
groundwater samples collected and analyzed for the above listed contaminants. Current depth to water at this site is
approximately 33.5 feet bsg.
2. Soil contamination was documented in B-I at 17 feet and 31 feet bsg. The lateral extent of this contamination must
be defined in both proposed borings, which may require deeper borings.
3. Laboratory regime must include analysis for 1,2-dichloroethane and ethylene dibromide for all samples analyzed.'
4. A San Joaquin County well permit application and required$89.00 permit fee must be submitted to SJC/EHD.
5. Fieldwork must be completed by October 18,2002. A report of fundings must be submitted to SJC/EHD within
60 days following completion of the fieldwork
E
Lori Duncan,Senior REHS Nuel C.Henderson,Jr.,R.G.
a
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: Marty Hartzell,CVRWQCB
Joe Neely,Cambria
a
