4. Inclusion of a trip blank, (consisting of deionized or distilled water in a sample bottle
that is prepared in a manner identical to the preparation of all other sample bottles
for that analytical technique) in each shipment of sample bottles to a sampling
location.
r.. 3.4 Mlscellaneou5 Checks Accuracy.
To insure that proper sampling procedures are followed in the field, one field blank will be collected
for every ten ground water samples collected in the field. Procedures for collection of the field
blank will be identical to these for collection of the ground water samples, with the exception that
deionized (or distilled) water will be poured into a laboratory-cleaned, teflon bailer and then
discharged from the bailer to the appropriate sample bottle(s).
3, Miscellaneous !Checks of Accuracy
Where trace analysis is involved, purity of the solvents, reagents, and gases employed is of great
concern. The laboratory maintains a service contract on all major instrumentation: gas
L' chromatographs, atomic absorption, ion chromatography, and total organic carbon analyzers are all
serviced and maintained regularly.
The above program is more than sufficient for most needs. Additional quality assurance, such as
spikes and duplicates on all analyses, will be provided if requested.
4.0 SITE SAFETY PLAN
This plan addresses safety provisions to be employed during the site investigative fieldwork in the
vicinity of 7910 Lower Sacramento Road, Stockton, California. The objective of the plan is to
* describe procedures and actions to protect the worker,as well as uninvolved parties, from inhalation
and ingestion of, and direct skin contact with, potentially hazardous ;materials that may be
encountered at the site. The plan describes personnel responsibilities and protective equipment to
La be worn as appropriate when working on the site.
4.1 Personnel Responsibilities
ion
Key personnel directly involved in the investigation who will be responsible for monitoring the
execution of safe work practices and the provisions of this plan are the drilling subcontractor project
supervisor and the Delta project field manager. These personnel are responsible for knowing the
provisions of the plan, communicating plan requirements to workers under their supervision and to
site visitors, and for enforcing the plan.
