Soil borings
B-1 through B-4 were drilled near the ymisting underground storag,:tanks. Soil borings B-S through
B-8 were located and drilled within the proposed location for the new tanks.
tit
r
All eight soil borings encountered a silty clay layer approximately 3 feet thick below the asphalt
pavement. Below the silty clay, the borings encountered layers of clayey silt(ML),silty clay(CL),
and sandy silt(ML). Soil boring B-7 encountered a lease of silty sand(SM)between 4 and 1 I feet,
Vit'!
and soil boring B-8 encountered fine to medius`sand(SP)between 8 and II feet.
4.0 SAWI.ING ANI.1 LABORATORY TESTi<NfG LPRQ:EOCDL
d.I_ aniplin¢-Ertocol
 .
The soil sampling was directed by a Delta geologist. A brass sampling tube was used to collect soil
_ samples at both the fill and nonfill ends of each tank, approximately 2 feet below the bottom of the
tFtnk excavaron. Nine soil samples were collected at 20-foot interva:s along the excavated prnduct
pipe trenching anL frum jeneath each product dispens;r.
