Preliminary Report
A. Teichert & Son, Inc.
Tracy Aggreqate Plant
Tracy, California
This report contains the prelimincry exploration and
investigation data and recommendations for removal of fuel-
contaminated soil at A. Teichert & Son, Aggregate Plant, Tracy,
California.
SUMMARY
March 12, 1987, A. Teichert & Son removed three small
gasoline tanks located souti. of the maintenance building as shown
on the attached map.
Soils tests indicate gasoline contamination at the bottom of
the tank hole as presented in Table 1. Table II presents results
of soils tests taken during drilling in July, 1987.
Analytical results presented in Table I and II indicate high
levels of contamination at the b-ttom of tank hole. Field tests
on May 8, 1987, indicate the contamination is greatly reduced at
17 ± feet deep in the tank hole.
Backhoe pits No. BP-2, BP-3, and B-4, to 17 feet deep indi-
cate no lateral contamination. Exploration drilling BH-1
(MW-1) , BH-2, and BH-3 also indicate very. little lateral
` movement of contaminates and very little contamination below
. approximately 20 feet deep and no ground water contamination.
To expedite; the cleanup by the most economical method, it is
recommended that the contamination be excavated and aerated on
site.
r
Ran I 1 !111 11 1 le 111
i
1
F
