w
Hsi,
. September 15, 1993 Working To Restore Nature
A. Teichert & Son, Tracy, California
•
Monitorina Well Development and Sampling
On July 12, 1993, a technician from RESNA developed monitoring wells MW-2 through
• MW-4, field methods for development are described in an attachment to this report. Water
purged from the wells was stored onsite 1n properly labeled 17-E steel drums pending the
results of laboratory analyses
Analytical Methods
•
Soil samples were analyzed for TPHg using modified Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) Method 5030/Purge-and-Trap and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylene
isomers (BTEX) using EPA Method 8020 Laboratory analyses were performed at Matrix
Environmental Laboratories (Matrix) in Rancho Cordova, California (Hazardous Waste
Testing Laboratory No 1676) Results of analyses are summarized in Table 1
Results of Soil Sample Analyses
Results of laboratory analyses indicated TPHg and BTEX were not detected in soil samples
. collected from borings drilled near the tank cavity (B-1 and B-3). TPHg and BTEX were
• also not detected in the soil composite collected from the drill cuttings (S-0708-labcd) Drill
cuttings were used as roadbase at the Teichert facility
PRESENT GROUNDWATER MONITORING
• On July 16, 1993, a technician from RESNA measured the depth to water, performed
subjective analyses of groundwater, and collected groundwater samples from the four
monitoring wells (Table 2) Monitoring well MW-1 was dry, therefore, a groundwater
sample was not collected for subjective or laboratory analyses The technician noted no
floating product or sheen in the three wells (MW-2 through MW-4)
•
The wellhead elevations of the monitoring wells at the site were surveyed by Tom O
Morrow, Inc of West Sacramento California, a licensed land surveyor (California Land
Surveyors No 3275) The surveyed elevations and the depth-to-groundwater measurements,
summarized in Table 3, were used to evaluate the potentlometric surface beneath the site
• The groundwater flow direction on July 16, 1993, was to the southwest with a hydraulic
gradient of 0 008 (Plate 17)
ti
Mgtak
123009.1 3
•
