1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> On behalf of the State of California, Division of the State Architect(DSA), Tetra Tech, Inc. has . <br /> prepared the following technical work plan to conduct a Phase 11 site investigation at Tank #3 at <br /> the Stockton Developmental Center, located at 510 East Magnolia in Stockton,.California. This <br /> work plan has been developed to comply.with criteria outlined by the San Joaquin County,- <br /> Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) and the State Water <br /> Resources Control BoardSWRCB <br /> ( ) concerning investigation of underground storage tanks. � <br /> Based on available data provided by PHS/EHD and'the'e Stockton Development Center, petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in the soil around an..8,500-gallon boiler fuel underground storage <br /> tank (UST) designated as Tank #3. The following proposed investigation is intended to assess <br /> the extent of petroleum-contaminated soil,around the UST and along the piping in order to <br /> provide a- basis for.conducting any necessary remedial action. The investigation will be <br /> conducted by on-site screening- and soil sample collection at 5-foot depth intervals; and <br /> laboratory analysis of all soil samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons by EPA Method 418.1. <br /> The following workplan focuses on the proposed investigation at Tank #3. This document <br /> provides a brief description and history of the site, and-presents the proposed field methodology. <br /> i <br /> to implement site investigation.
