Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report No 2 February 9, 1998
' from 2 9 b to 310
• pp ppb Laboratory results from the two remaining monitoring wells, SRK-
' MW2 and BEI-MW3, indicated TPHg concentrations in excess of 10,000 ppb at 32,000 ppb and
44,000 ppb, respectively, with BTEX concentrations ranging from 37 ppb to 4,700 ppb
' These results indicated a general increase in detected concentrations in the groundwater samples
collected from monitoring wells BEI-MW2, SRK-MW-2, MW-7 and MW-8, and a general
decrease in detected concentration in the groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells
' BEI-MWI, BEI-MW3, SRK-MWl and SRK-MW3 The current analytical results are shown
on Figure 3, the current and previous OST sampling analytical results are shown on Table 2
' Historical analytical data are included in Appendix B The Certified Analytical Reports and
Chain of Custody Records are included in Appendix C
4.2 Groundwater Elevations and Gradients
' A summary of the groundwater elevation measurements from current and previous OST
monitoring 1s shown on Table 3 Groundwater elevation contours for January 16, 1998 are
shown on Figure 4 Since the September 10, 1997 sampling, measurements to the top of the
' groundwater indicate an average groundwater rise of approximately 128 feet, ranging from 1 18
feet in monitoring well BEI-MW2 to 132 feet in monitoring wells SRK-MW1, SRK-MW3 and
l
MW-7 On January 16, 1998,the direction of groundwater flow was generally to the north, at
ie a gradient which ranged from approximately 0 001 to 0 002 These results compare favorably
with the previous gradient and directions Historical groundwater elevation data and
' groundwater gradients are included in Appendix B Copies of the field purge/sampling
worksheets are included as Appendix A
'
50 SELF-MONITORING PROGRAM SCHEDULE
' The next quarterly groundwater monitoring event is scheduled for the second quarter of 1998
1
' OST
701-1-2 qm2 Page 4
